Country`s leading brand Walton accoladed a warm reception to Bangladesh skipper Mehedi Hasan Miraz for becoming the Man of the Tournament at ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup 2016.

The reception was held at the conference hall of Walton at its office in city`s Motijheel on Tuesday morning.


Miraz was given a crest, a newly released Walton Primo ZX2 mini smartphone set and a cash of Tk 100,000. The allrounder is also working as the Youth Ambassador of Walton Group.


SM Zahid Hasan, Executive Director (Policy & HRM) departments of Walton, Uday Hakim, Operative Director (Creative & Publication), Firoj Alam, Senior Deputy Director (PR & Media), Milton Ahmed, Assistant Director (Creative & Publication) were among others present on the occasion.

Speaking on the function, Miraz said "Walton keeps sponsoring in various sports of Bangladesh specially in cricket. I feel proud for having this reception. This reception will certainly encourage me to do better in future."

Miraz will once lead Bangladesh to clinch the title of World Cup Cricket, other speakers of the function hoped. 
 
The 18-year old allrounder scored 242 runs 5 innings with an average of 60.50. He also bagged 12 wickets in 6 matches at an average of 17.66 at the ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup 2016.

Bangladesh secured third place in the tournament, their best result in an ICC event under the leadership of Miraz.
