Advanced technology based world-class electronics and electrical appliances of Walton brand is drawing huge customers’ attraction at the ongoing three-day long “Bangladesh ICT Expo-2016.”
With the slogan of Meet Digital Bangladesh,’ the country’s mega expo on ICT products kicked off at the Bangabandhu International Conference Center in the capital on Thursday and will continue till March 5.
ICT Division and Bangladesh Computer Samity jointly organised the 3-day long ‘Bangladesh ICT Expo-2016’ for the second time where more than 100 local ICT products manufacturing companies and 20 multinational companies took part in the expo to showcase their products through 59 pavilion and 70 stalls.
The country’s electronics giant ‘Walton’ set up a mega pavilion, No-24, under the local manufacturing zone at the fair to showcase its world-class electronics and electrical home appliances like refrigerator, freezer, compressor, LED television, air conditioner, washing machine, generator, light box, sealed lead acid rechargeable battery, electric switch and socket, LED bulb and light and so many products.
Along with the finished products, Walton is also displaying some R&D products like compressor, motherboards of LED television, desktop computer, laptop, mobile and tab at the mega expo.
Walton authorities said a large number of customers are thronging Walton Pavilion at the expo to purchase the local brand’s products. The visitors and customers also appreciated the Walton efforts on manufacturing highest standard fridge compressor and motherboards for computer, laptop, monitor, mobile and tab.
Walton Group’s Additional Director (IT Dept.) Engineer Liakat Ali said, “A separate production line for manufacturing PCB (Printed Circuit Board), which is known as motherboard, is being setting at our own factory ‘Walton Micro-Tech Corporation Ltd.’ at Chandra in Gazipur.”
With the production of motherboards at Walton factory, some new products like desktop computer, laptop, computer monitor, mobile and tab would be added to the Walton’s existing product line by the current year, he said adding, supplying such products in the local markets will help Bangladesh in moving one step ahead towards the progress of ICT sector.
Walton is displaying eight models of inverter technology based highest standard refrigerators at the mega expo. Among these, 3-door inverter technology based refrigerator (526 litter) has turned into the customers’ prime attraction.
Besides, Walton has brought highest quality’s 3G and 4G enabled smart phones for the mobile phone users. The cheap rates Walton mobile has turned into the ‘hot cake’ among the fair visitors and customers.
The customers are also buying Walton products through the company’s e-commerce site at expo. They are enjoying 5 per cent discount on all electrical and electronics appliances of Walton during online purchase. In addition, Walton is offering maximum 22 percent discount on the online sale of its mobile phones whereas the customers are getting up to 20 percent special cash discount on the cash purchase of Walton mobile.
Walton Group’s Executive Director (PR&Media) and Chief Coordinator of the mega expo Md. Humayun Kabir said, Walton took part in the first ICT Expo-15 with only mobile phones and some R&D products. Last year, Walton received huge customer’s response, said adding, thus they took part in this year’s expo with a wide range of electronics and electrical home appliances, along with mobile phones and tabs.
Through participating in this mega expo, he said, Walton is disseminating a information towards the local and international buyers that Bangladeshi brand Walton has moved ahead very quick towards the production of technology based products.
The fair gate will remain opened from 10am to 8pm during every day of the fair.
